So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. http://bible.us/Gal5.16.NLT

yes I have…by a really nice guy…
*singing: It’s Morning……*
As I sit here and reflect on the begining of this year, I can’t help but shake my head and have a small smirk. The phrase “be careful what you ask for, cuz you just might get it” scrolls across my mind. However, I can’t help it but try to change it into ” be aware of what you ask for, cuz you are going to get it”. At the turn of the new year, I had a long prayer session with God. We talked about alot; what worked, what didn’t work, what I should have done, my stupid excuses, old friendships, hurts, joy, pain, tears, laughs, old prayers, etc. I asked for some pretty big things this year: 1. to be debt free by the end of the year (school loans for my bachlor degree included) 2. to be a major leader for the company I work for 3. to be a major leader in his kingdom for him 4. to have my finances be blessed so that I can give 2x more than what I gave last year. 5. make my current living arrangments brand new. 6. To lose 50 pounds by the end of the year. 7. last but never least. I asked for my finances to touch a million people at the first level in my lifetime.
Sounds like big things to ask huh? Where did I get the idea to ask for these things? My pastor. He talked about “you hae not, because you ask not”. He said, we insult God by asking HIM for minor things when HE is able to give super natural things. God is moved by our faith. So if my faith is small, then I can only hope for small things. However, when I expand my scope and stretch my faith to the max, that is when I can start to believe and expect the desires of my heart. God has already promised us the desires of our hearts. Now it is my job to ask for them AND expect to receive them. Joyce Meyer speaks about this alot. She says don’t let life steal your hopes and dreams for God gave you those hopes and dreams. When they seem impossible, then it is because they are if you seeing them as you trying to do it yourself. If God gave you the dream, then why do you expect HIM to make you do on your own? I asked myself that question over and over. My answer? Because I’m stupid LOL God gave me a dream to start my own healthcare insurance company for women and their children for those that fall into the gap( income to much for government assistance and not enough for private). However, even though the dream has not died, as time keeps moving I feel like it keeps getting farther and farther away. Especially since I don’t work in the healthcare field. It’s not like I have not tried to work for hospitlas, clients, etc. The company I work for started out just for the purpose of needing a job until….. not God has opened door after door and I keep getting promoted. So clearly this is where HE wants me for now. Who am I to argue?
Now back to the early statement about be aware of what you ask for….. I have definatly seen movement in the areas of what I asked for. I am also a strong enough christian to know NOT to be fooled by what I see, know what is about to happen. For example, I asked for my current living situation to be made brand new. Now I hoped for a new house or apartment for my mom and I. Now what happened, My house flooded 3 weeks ago. hhhmmmmm yea……
Since the flood:
- dropped a class
- dad lost his job
- mix up with my financial aid still have not received it
- lawsuit payments started this month
- carpet in the house is detroyed
- got in to a fight with I friend, because I wanted to see her since I haven’t in a few weeks (stupid)
Not being fooled, because:
- Boyfriend came all the way from CC to help me pull up carpet, move furniture, shampoo rest of carpet, and be my support.
- People at my school have taken my financial aid mix-up personally, and are fighting to get it back to me.
- My boss is trying to get me promoted so I can make more money
- Mom brought her co-worker to the house to help redo my bedroom (loks brand new!)
- Let the pride go told my friend I loved her and missed her. Her response: I love and miss you too”
- I have great support for losing weight. My coach calls and checks on me all the time. I have lost inches…I know th pounds will come later, because I have noticed I am stronger and my endurance is longer.
So I totally feel like God is making moves in my life. I know that my faith will continue to be tested. I am asking for BIG things. So the devil is going to fight me even harder, but I am ready because I am tired of just living to get by when I see people everyday living out their dreams. It’s my turn.
Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. http://bible.us/Phil4.11.NLT
