1 Corinthians 1:26-29 (this thought helps with getting/staying humble)
Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world’s eyes or powerful or wealthy when God called you. Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. Mini morning study
O Lord, I give my life to you. Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth.
Remember me in the light of your unfailing love, for you are merciful, O Lord.
The Lord is good and does what is right; he shows the proper path to those who go astray.
The Lord leads with unfailing love and faithfulness all who keep his covenant and obey his demands.
For the honor of your name, O Lord, forgive my many, many sins.
The Lord is a friend to those who fear him.
He teaches them his covenant. My eyes are always on the Lord,
for he rescues me from the traps of my enemies. My problems go from bad to worse.
Oh, save me from them all! Feel my pain and see my trouble.
Forgive all my sins. May integrity and honesty protect me,

At the end of the day,
I still feel bad.
Have mercy on me, O God,
because of your unfailing love.
Because of your great compassion,
blot out the stain of my sins. Wash me clean from my guilt.

I have done what is evil in your sight.
You will be proved right in what you say,

Remove the stain of my guilt. Create in me a clean heart, O God.
Renew a loyal spirit within me. Do not banish me from your presence,
and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and make me willing to obey you. Unseal my lips, O Lord,
that my mouth may praise you. You do not desire a sacrifice, or I would offer one.
You do not want a burnt offering. The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit.

Don’t envy evil people or desire their company. For their hearts plot violence,and their words always stir up trouble. If you fail under pressure, your strength is too small. Rescue those who are unjustly sentenced to die; save them as they stagger to their death. Don’t excuse yourself by saying, “Look, we didn’t know.” For God understands all hearts, and he sees you. He who guards your soul knows you knew. He will repay all people as their actions deserve. In the same way, wisdom is sweet to your soul.
